We use the Link Rates function for our Healthcare Benefits as there are set rates of BiK or Deduction depending on the level of cover (single, couple, family, single parent family) with each employee set up to use the Global Rates for these elements. We update these rates every September when the contract renews and there are increases to the policies. As usual this year we updated the Global Rates at the Company level expecting them to filter through to our employees. This worked for the September payroll but in October the employees reverted back to the old rates even though the Global Rates remained at the updated level. Paycircle have told me this is normal and that in order to ensure your employees are updated permanently and not temporarily you have to re-add the link rate to each individual employee. While they have offered a quick method of adding the rate you have to go into each individual employee to remove the incorrect rate first. Across all of our payrolls this process took me 4 hours.
I would have expected that updating the Global Rates would have meant that all employees who are set to use the Global rate are also updated permanently and was very surprised to find that Paycircle had set this up differently.
Describe the Challenge | This removes the manual task of going into each record and removing the old rate to readd the new one. This can be very time consuming and took nearly 4 hours in October. |
