Preview Pay Statement | Clearly highlight element / change configuration (taxable, NICable, Pensionable...)

Challenge

The Preview Pay Statement (PPS) functionality is currently the most accessible way to check an employees pay in a period (e.g., Stat Payments, Pension Contributions).

However, it can be challenging to work out why some values on the PPS are calculated the way they are, because you can't see the element configuration from the PPS.

For example, if I am an admin processing an employees pay for the period and I check over their PPS but observe the pension contribution looks incorrect, I need to be able to work out what values are pensionable, notional etc so I know what values are relevant to the pension contribution calculation.

I cannot do this from the PPS, so I need to notarise the elements/changes in the PPS and then exit the PPS and check each elements configuration to understand which elements are relevant to the calculation.

This is time consuming and with Paycircle containing a large number of base elements (custom elements not withstanding), I am not likely to remember which elements are applied in which way.

Suggestion(s)

Note: The below list is not necessarily for all inclusion - rather, the suggestions should work in isolation or in combination.

1. Add a badge icon to the right of each change / element in the PPS that can be hovered over to indicate its status (aka, taxable, NIable, Pensionable, Notional). Each configuration point should have its own badge.

2. Clearly highlight element configuration when a change / element is hovered over. This could for example display the same config window you'd see in the elements area, but as a hover over sub menu for that element.

3. Improve the PPS flyout to include subsection accordions to highlight which elements within the statement are taxable, NICable, Pensionable, Notional etc.

• Easy identification of relevant elements within a calculation for Tax, NIC, Pension etc.

• Simplified view of elements for an employee in a period.

• Ease of understanding improved for all users when viewing a PPS.
